Stebonheath and Dalkeith Roundabout Project
You’ll find on this page:
A new roundabout is being constructed at the Stebonheath Road and Dalkeith Road intersection in Kudla.
This project is being delivered by the City of Playford, in partnership with the Town of Gawler and the Australian Government, working together to improve local roads and make it easier for the community to get around as our area continues to grow.
Funding of $1.987M was secured in 2024 under the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program.
About the project
The new roundabout has been designed to improve traffic flow, support safer movement for all road users and ensure the road network continues to operate effectively as the Playford-Gawler area contiunes to grow.
The upgrade includes construction of a new roundabout, pedestrian refuges, improved lighting, pram ramps and traffic channelisation to help manage vehicle speeds and enhance safety for everyone.
Below is an example of what the roundabout will look like.
Project updates
Normal access will change in the construction area for the Stebonheath and Dalkeith roundabout project.
From Tuesday 10 March, there will be no access to Dalkeith Road from any part of Stebonheath Road.
Dalkeith Road access will be managed via temporary traffic signals.

Experience during construction
Construction has started on the roundabout with speed restrictions and road closures in place.
During any road upgrade and construction people using the road should expect periodic road closures as well as increased dust and noise.
