Retail

With an extra 48,000 residents set to call the City of Playford home by 2041, there will be growth opportunities for retailers for decades to come. Neighbourhood shopping centres are spread throughout our city, providing an array of leasing opportunities for retail and professional services, especially in new developments like Riverlea, Playford Alive and Miravale.

Elizabeth CBD

The City of Playford is reshaping the Elizabeth CBD into a thriving retail, business and entertainment precinct.

Revitalising the Elizabeth CBD responds to the needs of our growing community. As our population continues to rapidly increase, so do expectations for access to a thriving retail, business and entertainment precinct that is close to home.

The Elizabeth CBD is home to the largest shopping centre in northern Adelaide. Elizabeth City Centre welcomes over 7 million guests from a catchment of 234,000 people (and growing) each year. To find out more about leasing opportunities within the centre, visit Elizabeth City Centre's leasing page.

The Elizabeth CBD is also currently home to the Playford Civic Centre, Shedley Theatre, as well as restaurants, cafes and bulky goods retailers.

After an open-market Expressions of Interest process in 2021, in August 2022 Council resolved to accept an offer by Pelligra to purchase and develop two specific sites within the Elizabeth CBD. Pelligra has proposed to build a commercial office and innovation hub of up to eight storeys and a sports entertainment venue. Click here to find out more details about this proposal.
