In July 2023 local clubs came together to celebrate women's football and partake in the inaugural Playford Women's Futsal World Cup here at the John McVeity Centre! And what a day it was for all involved.

Congratulations to Elizabeth Grove Soccer Club on the win, hope that trophy made it back to the club safe and sound! A special shout out to Samantha Martin for being awarded Best Player on the day.

We couldn't have done it without Football South Australia referees John and Ray who were fantastic in educating the players and creating a welcoming atmosphere.

A special thank you to the teams at The Playford Women's Shed and Lions Club of Elizabeth Playford Inc for supporting this event and we hope to welcome you both back soon!

Last but not least a big thank you to the players and volunteers who came down and showed their support throughout the day.

After the success and demand from the JMC Women's Futsal World Cup we are excited to start-up a social league for local players during the outdoor off-season (Sept 2024 - Jan/Feb 2025). If you are interested or know someone who is please email adyer@playford.sa.gov.au for more information.

When: Monday and Wednesdays during school term 7:15pm-8:15pm

At the John McVeity Centre we have Badminton equipment for hire suitable for clubs, schools, and trainings.

Badminton Court Hire must be booked in advance, following the standard booking procedure. The following exceptions are in place for Badminton Court Hire;

• Badminton bookings must be a minimum of 1 hour.
• Badminton bookings can only be made up to 7 days in advance, during standard operating hours or casual court access times.
• Phone bookings can be made 90 minutes before if space permits.
• Note - Badminton Court Hire does not give exclusive access to the whole court space.
• Note - Racquets and shuttles can be borrowed at no additional cost.
