The Playford Wellbeing Hub delivers a range of programs and services to support community physical, social and mental health and wellbeing. As part of the Wellbeing Hub, the JMC offers a range of court sports.

Basketball
SA Church Basketball Association
SA Church Basketball Association (SACBA) is bringing Junior and Senior Basketball back to the JMC! No experience required!
Juniors: Under 8s - Under 16s
Game times: Tuesdays from 4:15pm - 6:00pm during school term
Seniors: 16+ - open age competition
Game times: Tuesdays from 6:00pm - 8:00pm
Do I need to be affiliated with a church to join/participate in SACBA programs and competitions?
No affiliation to a specific school or church is required. SACBA focuses on inclusion and enjoyment of the game of basketball for all and will assist individuals to find a team to enjoy our competitions with.

Special Olympics Basketball Development
Join us for fun, fitness, and friendship! Special Olympics is sport, health, and personal development for children and adults with intellectual disabilities and autism. The ultimate outcome for everyone is to enjoy being active – and to stay active for life!
Sessions will be held on Thursday evenings at the John McVeity Centre in Smithfield Plains starting 4th of May 2023.
Duration: 60 minutes of game-based activities and instructional learning.
Sessions include:
- small-sided games that allow for high involvement
- games with modified rules, area and equipment to promote inclusion and prompt understanding
- Health education and social activities

Badminton
At the John McVeity Centre we have Badminton equipment for hire suitable for clubs, schools, and trainings.
Badminton Court Hire must be booked in advance, following the standard booking procedure. The following exceptions are in place for Badminton Court Hire;
- Badminton bookings must be a minimum of 1 hour.
- Badminton bookings can only be made up to 7 days in advance, during standard operating hours or casual court access times.
- Phone bookings can be made 90 minutes before if space permits.
- Note - Badminton Court Hire does not give exclusive access to the whole court space.
- Note - Racquets and shuttles can be borrowed at no additional cost.
