Youth Team Programs
The GRID Youth Hub (73 Elizabeth Way, Elizabeth)
Ongoing – shared youth space
The GRID is a dedicated youth hub located at Northern Sound System, providing a safe, inclusive, and engaging space for young people to connect, participate in programs, and access support. The space features gaming, sports and arcade equipment, and social areas, and is activated through a range of programs and partnerships, including Youth Team initiatives and drop-in sessions.

PlayFit
Weekly (school term) – Wednesdays, 3:30pm–5:00pm
A youth-led program combining gaming, sport, and fitness to build confidence, routine, and social connection. Includes competitions, challenges, and food. Led by Ruben Swanepoel.
PlayFit x Community Sessions (City of Playford x Hopestreet Collaboration)
Weekly – Thursdays & Fridays, 4:00pm–6:00pm
A collaborative program delivered by City of Playford and Hopestreet, forming part of the Hopestreet drop-in sessions. Includes casual sport, fitness, gaming, and hangout opportunities in a supportive, youth-focused environment, often utilising outdoor community spaces and The GRID.
Holiday Programs (e.g. Console Connect, PlayFit Camps)
School holidays (varied schedule)
A mix of free and low-cost activities including gaming sessions, sports days, excursions, and special events.
Youth Voice / Youth Advisory Opportunities
Ongoing (flexible engagement)
Opportunities for young people to share feedback, contribute ideas, and help shape programs, events, and services. Currently under review, with a refreshed model scheduled to relaunch in June.

A relaxed, creative space for young people aged 12–25 to practice writing or drawing. No experience required — participants can share their work or simply create at their own pace.

A safe, youth-led and youth-focused space for people aged 15–25 across the LGBTIQ+ spectrum. Provides an opportunity to connect, build community, and contribute to positive change.

A beginner-friendly Dungeons & Dragons campaign for young people aged 12–25. Designed to be inclusive, social, and led by youth for youth.

Playford 10 (P10)
Playford 10 is a City of Playford early-intervention program that works with selected local schools to support children and young people to connect with sport, recreation and community activities.
The program is coordinated by Seanna Darcy and works closely alongside the Youth Team, with crossover in program delivery, referrals, and shared support for young people.
Breakfast Club
Weekly (school term) – Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9:00am–11:00am
A free, welcoming space for young people to access breakfast, connect with others, and start the day in a supportive environment. Led by Seanna Darcy.

NSS PROGRAMS
StudioLab
Mondays, 4:00pm–7:00pm (All school term)
A studio production focused program, offering free 1-hour recording sessions with mentorship from actively practicing studio engineers with a variety of free workshops to support people in learning to record, produce, and mix their own music.
Please note bookings are optional for StudioLab.
Holiday Bands
School Holidays – Intensive program (e.g. Mon–Fri in the first week of the school holidays)
Holiday Bands is a school holiday favourite. An intensive band program spanning across five days, filled to the brim with music industry workshops and opportunities for young music enthusiasts aged 13-17 to form bands. In just one week, program participants write, record and perform their original music at a live gig that is broadcasted to local radio.
IRL: Be In A Band
Wednesdays, 5:30pm–7:30pm (Term 1 & 3)
IRL is an entry level band program for young aspiring musicians aged 13-17 to join a band, rehearse weekly, learn a cover, write an original, participate in a photoshoot, studio recording, perform a gig and foster friendships through music and community.
Live Series
Every 1st Thursday of the Month – 5:00pm -6:30pm (All year)
Live at the Launchpad/Live from the Studio is a live performance series for emerging artists (all ages) to play a 20-minute set alongside other local musicians. All performers receive a multi-track live recording of their set and video accompaniment, mixed and released to the NSS YouTube Channel, providing aspiring artists with performance opportunities, recorded resources and a safe community to express their creativity.
Low Stakes Events Program
Tuesdays, 6:00pm – 8:00pm (Term 2 & 4)
Low Stakes is an educational training program designed to develop industry skills for passionate youth (ages 16-25) and explore career pathways in music. The program will form a team specialising in marketing, event management and technical production, with facilitation form active practitioners in these fields, to curate their own live music event.
LVL UP!
Wednesdays, 5:30pm – 7:30pm (Term 2 & 4)
Level Up is a program for pre-emerging bands (ages 14-25) to level up their sound, develop new skills and expand their knowledge of the music industry. Including personalised learning and mentorship to deliver an all-rounded experience and skillset needed to accomplish their music goals beyond the program.
Next Wave 2026
10- Month Program (scheduled across the year)
Next Wave is a free 10-month program (aged 16+) spotlighting an artist development stream and a film + image production stream to engage in tailored mentorship and collaborate on music releases, live sets, video clips, live shoots and portraits ending with a live performance. Free music industry workshops for the public to attend every month.
Drama Club
Thursdays, 4:30pm–6:00pm (All school terms)
Drama club is a creative space for young people aged 12-17 to build confidence, develop performance skills, engage in meaningful community and collaborate through acting, storytelling and theatre inspired activities.
