- It’s going to be a blast: Science Fair in Playford
The Playford Science Fair returns on 19 July with free entry, making it a great budget-friendly way to keep the kids entertained this winter school holidays.
Doors will open at the Playford Civic Centre in Elizabeth from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and again from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm, with two three-hour sessions giving children and teenagers the chance to explore the wonders of science.
Among the attractions are Animals Anonymous showcasing a range of native animals and new tricks harnessing the power of Fire, Froth & Fog on display at the Chemistry Show.
Special guest Marty McBubble will also present his amazing Bubble Show. The shows are complemented by a day of hands-on science fun with rotocopters, O-Wings and an electric circuit challenge. There will be a virtual reality experience with IgniteVR, SciWorld's inflatable Starlab, robotics and a special Toddlers' Corner. Fans of Dr Who will be delighted to learn that there will also be Daleks!
Mayor Glenn Docherty said he was excited to welcome Science Fair back once more.
“It’s fantastic to see the Science Fair return to Playford, giving young people a fun and hands-on way to explore science, ask questions and spark their curiosity,” said the Mayor.
“Playford is home to a growing health precinct and we know science, technology and innovation will play a big role in the future of our city.”
“With major investment and growth happening in these areas across Playford, it is exciting to support events that nurture local talent and encourage young people to imagine where science could take them.”
The event is free however attendees must still register for tickets by heading to www.thesciencecollective.com/event-details/playford-science-fair and booking tickets from the morning or afternoon session.
