The Aquadome's 50m pool is set to reopen this December following its closure for major upgrades by the City of Playford.

While the program pool reopened in September, the 50m pool currently remains closed, with an expected reopening date in mid-late December.

The majority of work being undertaken to the aquatic facilities is behind the scenes, including the installation of a state-of-the-art pool pump and filtration system and new heating technology. The upgrade also includes rebuilding and retiling of the 50m pool.

This is a significant investment in the pool’s infrastructure which will reduce intermittent pool closures during peak periods, provide increased control over water temperatures and exceed all safety and compliance requirements. Importantly, the work being done now will future-proof the facility for generations to come.

As can be the case when upgrading facilities, as construction has progressed, additional work has been uncovered. The City of Playford has taken the opportunity to resolve the additional issues, which will ensure the quality and longevity of the upgrade. It has, however, resulted in delays the reopening date which we know has been inconvenient for Aquadome users.
