Big-time sport is returning to Playford this summer with international men’s and women’s tennis hitting off on New Year’s Eve at our world-class sporting facility.
The Playford Tennis Centre will host its second Men’s Challenger and Women’s ITF Futures tournaments, from 31 December to 6 January, featuring players warming up for Melboune’s Australian Open.
The City of Playford Tennis International is South Australia’s most prestigious tennis event, with players competing for $100,000 in sponsors’ prizemoney.
- Of the 32 players in the men’s main draw in last summer’s Playford International, 27 went on to the Australian Open Qualifying Tournament and four went directly into the main draw.
- Of the 32 players in the women’s main draw, 14 went on to the Australian Open Qualifying Tournament and three went directly into the main draw.
Aside from the on-court action, there’s fun for everyone with the Kids Racquet Zone, offering fun activities for our young future tennis superstars.
Thanks to P’Petual, the Kids Racquet Zone will feature three days of jam-packed children’s entertainment, while the ANZ Hot Shots program will provide a chance to learn some skills.
Adding to the Playford summer vibes will be the Splash n Bounce Inflatable Water Park at Ridley Reserve, directly opposite the Playford Tennis Centre, from 29 December.
The inflatable water park has a huge array of waterslides and activities for the whole family to enjoy.
