A high-tech, smart health hub that will see the expansion of the area surrounding the Lyell McEwin Hospital into an interconnected health precinct.

The City of Playford plays a key role in the development of a complementary hub of health and wellbeing services around the Lyell McEwin Health Precinct, known as the Playford Health and Wellbeing Precinct which is well positioned to support the increasing needs of a large and growing population. Our community deserves the best health care and to be able to access this care close to home.

In 2011, a master plan was prepared identifying the opportunity for an interconnected zone of complementary businesses and services featuring tertiary training, research capability, allied health facilities and residential accommodation to provide high quality health services for not only its own growing community, but northern Adelaide and into regional South Australia.

This vision has led to Council unlocking key Council-owned sites in the precinct for private/state investment to support expansion of the Lyell McEwin Hospital. To date, this has included Fluid Solar House, Elizabeth Vale Centre Northwest development and ACH Healthia, an aged care complex and university training centre. Other sites have also been repurposed to support the expansion of the Lyell McEwin Hospital.

Work also continues to progress at Northwest Properties' private hospital, Playford Health Hub, which will be the future home of Calvary and Genesis Care.

The map below shows the current and future planned amenities and services in the Playford Health and Wellbeing Precinct.
