Grants and Funding

Want to trial a project?  Coordinating an event? Need one-off funding? 

Below we have included some links to grants that are available for youth projects.  The grants are all different, as such; check the grant guidelines to ensure your organisation is eligible and that the project meets the criteria.

1. City of Playford

City of Playford offers Community Development Grants, the aim of which is to encourage and develop local community projects and ensure that community groups can participate and make a positive contribution to community and cultural life in the City of Playford.  Children and Young People are one of the priority areas in Council's Community Wellbeing Pan and projects addressing this priority area are sought.

The following Grants are available:

  • Major Project/Community Event Grants (round opens twice per calendar year)
  • Minor Community Development Grants (open all year)
  • Academic, Sporting & Cultural Assistance Grants (open all year)

2. Community Benefit SA Grants

Community Benefit SA is a State Government program in South Australia which allocates up to $4 million per year to the community for one off projects that assist non government community service agencies to improve the well being, quality of life, community participation and life management skills of disadvantaged individuals, families and communities.

3. SA Grants Directory

The Grants Directory offers easy access to information on a broad range of funding options available to the community through grant programs, philanthropic foundations etc.  Check out the website for links or to download the directory. www.service.sa.gov.au/grants.asp

4. Office for Youth

Youth Participation Grant - The Youth Participation Grants support consultations with young people around the development, implementation and evaluation of Youth Action Plan priorities for action. 

Youth Engagement Grant - Youth Engagement Grants of $20,000 per annum for 3 years
are available to agencies working with young people aged 12-25 to assist them in their personal and social development. Non-government and government agencies can apply for
funding to conduct projects that:

  • strengthen partnerships
  • support young people's engagement
  • promote creative leadership

Youth Network Grants: The Office for Youth is committed to supporting youth networks through providing grants of $2,000 per annum to networks of youth service providers across South Australia.

Youth Leadership Grants: Youth Leadership Grants encourage and promote the development of young people's leadership skills by providing financial assistance for innovative projects. These projects led by young people will benefit other young people and the community in which they live. Funding of up to $500 is available to individuals aged 12-25 living in South Australia.

5. Premier's Community Initiatives Fund

The Premier's Community Initiatives Fund has been established by the Premier of South Australia to provide financial assistance to non-profit charitable South Australian organisations that offer direct services and support in community development initiatives to excluded, disabled or socially isolated members of the community. The objective of the Fund is to make available grants of up to $10,000 to assist such organisations to undertake a one off project that will benefit the community.

6. South Australian Youth Arts Board

The SAYAB grants program aims to encourage exciting and innovative youth arts activity of a high standard, across the full range of the arts. Providing grants and schemes to support and develop artistic activity for, by and with young South Australians 26 years and under.
