Mother of five, Brianah Kemp, wants to help build a safer community for families within Playford.

As a way to demonstrate our community engagement focus, we have recently committed to one of the largest and most innovative engagement exercises to date. This was through involving over 1600 people who live and work in Playford to help shape our city’s draft Strategic Plan 2020-2024.

Here’s what some of our community advocates shared about their experience and what drove them to be part of the conversation.

Mother of five, Brianah Kemp, wants to help build a safer community for families within Playford.

“I want to be part of the conversation now, so I know what’s going to happen in the future and what is in store for myself living in the community and my kids growing up here,” Brianah said.

“I want to be able to say what I’d like to see and also hear from others.”

Brianah and her family are passionate about further developing community connectedness through infrastructure, services and recreational facilities.

“I want my family to live in a community like I did when I grew up where everyone supported one another,” she said. “This promotes community safety too.”

Community safety through foundational infrastructure such as footpaths and lighting is a top priority for this mum.

But to continue to be active members of the community, Brianah’s children want to see more places they can play and make friends in Playford.

“The kids wanted more bike paths and activities to do with others their age, so they can meet new people,” Brianah said. “We have recently moved to a new area and they want to build their community here.”
