Located in Prince George Plaza, the heart of the Elizabeth CBD, the Grenville Hub, is a welcoming & vibrant place that provides a broad range of services, activities and outreach programs, which encourage and promote lifelong learning, physical activity, healthy living, & enjoyment.

Community Passenger Network
Receiving Commonwealth Home Support Funding provides opportunities for social connections, engagement, and linkages for people 65 years and over.
Conveniently located, nestled alongside retail offerings, our iconic Shedley Theatre and Café, function rooms, Civic Centre, and Elizabeth Library Service.
Age-Friendly Strategy and Planning
After seeing the demand within our city, we have created an age-friendly strategy and action plan to help our older residents live life to the fullest.
This strategy aids in the planning for older people's social, civic and economic participation within Playford, with a special focus on our new CBD development, our vision to be a smart city, and increasing our use of new technologies.
Among the key themes are:
- Maintaining health and independence
- Life-long learning and new skills
- Better access to community information
- Increased participation
- Dementia-friendly planning
- Addressing social isolation
While this action plan provides a clear direction for Playford’s approach to ageing well, it also recognises that the spirit and location of the new Grenville Hub in the city’s CBD plays a key role, symbolically and practically, in driving the ongoing Council partnership with community in creating an age-friendly city.
Home Assist
The Home Assist Program offers Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) and State Government funded in-home, transport and shopping services for eligible residents to assist them to live independently through one-off or short-term services.
Home Assist services include:
- Domestic assistance
- Short-term fortnightly or monthly
- Spring cleans (conditions apply)
- Transport
- Shopping
- Medical
- To and from Council-funded social inclusion programs
- Home maintenance
- Minor maintenance work
- Light globes and smoke alarm batteries replaced
- Smoke alarms installed
- Gutter and window cleaning
- Key safes supplied and installed
- Home modifications
- Grab rails
- Ramps
- Steps
- Social support
- Shopping assistance
- Friendly visiting
- Dog walking
- Personal care - short term only, while recovering from illness or injury
Home Assist is funded by the Federal Government Department of Health, the South Australian Department for Communities and Social Inclusion and the City of Playford.
To be eligible for CHSP services, residents must be over 65 years of age, physically frail and assessed by My Aged Care (1800 200 422) as requiring the service to remain living independently at home and in their community
To be eligible for State Government funded services residents must be under 65 years of age and have a disability pension as a minimum requirement. Funding is limited and short term. Assessment for services is carried out by Home Assist staff.
Home Assist services do not include financial support and recipients meet the cost of all materials. For more information about Home Assist services and fees, call 8256 0355.
