Looking Back to see the Future. A revisionist history of Woomera 1947-1980.

Michael Wohltmann will speak about his new book, which chronicles all the elements of the Woomera story, including the involvement of many men and women who were involved in Woomera, Weapons Research Establishment, Edinburgh, Mallala, and Maralinga, many of whom live on the Playford and Salisbury District.

About Michael

Michael Wohltmann was a senior history and politics teacher ,who worked in the public school system for over 31 years.He taught mainly at the senior secondary level and taught year 11/12 Australian History, Australian and International Politics and European History.Michael Wohltmann is a historian and author. In retirement he has used his time to write a number of History books, all relating to South Australian HistoryIncluding: A Future Unlived. A forgotten chapter in South Australia’s history. A history of the internment of German Enemy Aliens on Torrens Island during the Great War.

Books will be available for sale at the event for $45 each (Cash only).
