Dawn Service provides an opportunity for us to reflect and remember those who have fought and served in all wars, conflicts and peace operations during the quiet, peaceful moments at dawn.

No place is unaffected by war, the City of Playford is no exception. The story of war encompasses more than those who fought and currently serve, it includes those who remain behind. The women and men whose wives and husbands enlist, the mothers and fathers who wonder at their son or daughter’s fate, the children who miss out on having their father, mother or family around. War touches many of us and continues to do so today.

The City of Playford community and visitors are invited to join the City of Playford’s Mayor Glenn Docherty and Pastor Bryan Sellars to commemorate and pay tribute to past and present servicemen and women.

Pay tribute at our Dawn Service at 6am on Sunday, 25 April at the Cross of Remembrance Memorial, Smithfield Memorial Gardens, Anderson Walk, Smithfield.

Gates open from 4:30am, with main entry via Anderson Walk. The second entry is located at the north-west end of the Smithfield Memorial Gardens on Morialta Drive. This is a fenced event.

Our ANZAC Day commemorations are not ticketed, however for the health and safety of our community, and in line with SA Health advice attendance at the Dawn Service is capped at 2,500.

COVID Safe principals will be in place, with social-distancing, contact tracing and hygiene.

All attendees will be required to COVID SAfe check-in via QR code or paper records.

Pease note, this event is operating under an approved COVID Management Plan and is subject to the directions at the time of the event.
