The Aquadome provides health and fitness programs and facilities including public pools, swimming lessons, gym, group fitness and personal training.
The facility is also used by Adelaide United’s football department for therapy and training, and is also home to the Playford Aquatic Club, a swimming club that hosts Swimming SA events and has been named Swimming SA Club of the Year in 2013 and 2015.
2021 upgrade now complete!
A major upgrade to the aquatic facilities at the Aquadome was completed in 2021, following a $2.74M investment by the City of Playford.
The majority of work completed was “behind the scenes”, including the installation of a state-of-the-art pool pump, filtration system and new heating technology as well as rebuilding and retiling of the 50m pool.
The upgrade means each pool at the Aquadome can now be independently controlled, new smart technology will result in a 40% power reduction to the site and there will be a reduction in intermittent pool closures.
In early 2022 the pool deck will be recoated with a non-slip protective coating. This work will take place out of operating hours with minimal disruption to users.
