The extensive green space at Elizabeth Park’s Jubilee Park is the result of a project initiated by the Elizabeth Council’s Greening Committee and the Jubilee 150 Project. The Greening Committee, Council workers and volunteers carried out the rejuvenation of the 16 hectares of park in 1985, with 4000 trees added to the site.

The Duke of Edinburgh opened the park on 11th March 1986, as part of the South Australian 150th Jubilee celebrations.
