The Civic Centre library will be transformed into a digital dungeon for the Playford Palace this weekend. What would an event on a royal scale be without a dungeon?
The Playford Civic Centre Library will become a Digital Dungeon on Friday night and Saturday, complete with the latest in tech and gadgets for your kids to play on and learn from.
^^VR Dome that will be in the Digital Dungeon this week
Council’s library program officer Jasmine Pugh said the library will be transformed into a digital landscape with plenty of activities for kids and families to enjoy.
“The digital dungeon will include a virtual reality dome, where you will put on VR goggles to create some cool street art that will illuminate on the outside of the dome,” Jasmine said. ^^ Graffitti art program that will display art on the ouside of VR dome. Other new tech includes Sphero programmable robots (think Star Wars’ BB -8 droid) that use tablets to control the robotics.
On Saturday, the Mini Maker space will come alive with electromagnetic cars in a light-up box smart city.Using a car, navigate through the cardboard buildings to light-up or change the colour of the cityscape.
If your kids want to get into the spirit of the Playford Palace they can also dress up and join the library at 2pm, Saturday, for a royal Storytime.
We recommend you dressing as your favourite prince or princess because we hear that some Disney Princesses may also be attending.
The Playford Palace Digital Dungeon will be open on Friday, 24 February (4pm to 7pm - Ruby Room Laser Skirmish is 6pm to 10pm) and Saturday, 25 February (10am to 5pm).
