Virginia collected an impressive PDCA win before the Christmas break.
Virginia shocked Central United in their Para District grade one cricket match on the weekend, winning in comprehensive fashion.
Central United won the toss and were rolled for just 113 in 38 overs.
Anthony Bascombe, Anthony Seccafien and John Natsias each took three wickets.
Brad Woodward (37) and Ian Williamson (20) provided the only real resistance.
Bascombe (50 not out) and Shaun Lay (49 not out) were unconquered as Virginia won.
Parafield Gardens (8/161) made short work of ATCO, which was dismissed for just 75, with Craig D’Antonio making 50 of those runs, having already taken 3/30.
Salisbury West defeated Craigmore by 18 runs.
For Craigmore, Trent Payne (3/30) and Travis Gebauer (65*) played well.
Finally, One Tree Hill defeated Angle Vale by 20 runs in their match.
At 0/80 (Adam Smith 52), One Tree Hill was going well but lost its way in the middle order, losing 5/47, before Damien Ellis’ 44 ensured a challenging total of 8/209 was set.
Angle Vale only made 189 in pursuit, with Smith (4/22) and Jarrod Hanisch (3/31) taking the scalps. Highlights from other grades:
Dublin belted 8/253 in its 40 overs in grade one, defeating Salisbury West;
J. Kelly hit 90 as Angle Vale hit a huge 8/269 to defeat Two Wells;
In grade three, Enfield United defeated Smithfield by one wicket, chasing just 62. At one point United were 7/10. Luke Dunn took 5/17 for Smithfield;
In grade five, Virginia made just 38 against North Pines (7/275), while Dublin (84) was beaten by Para Teachers (3/311);
In grade six, Angelo Pappas took 5/8 as Craigmore defeated Angle Vale.
Central United’s Stephen Lynch senior took 5/12 as his side rolled Salisbury West for 54.
