A twilight community event on Saturday 17 February, featuring an outdoor cinema screening, will star Playford’s newest attraction, Mofflin Reserve.

The event is being held to give the community – and visitors to the city – the chance to experience the newly transformed reserve at Elizabeth Vale, which opened in January following ten months of construction.

The evening will include pre-movie entertainment, family-friendly activities, food trucks and an outdoor cinema screening of Puss in Boots: The Last Wish.

Mayor Glenn Docherty said it will be a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together and experience the new space.

“Activating our community spaces with events like this is important because it invites local families and visitors to explore and embrace our newest multi-use park,” said Mayor Docherty.

“When we design spaces, we look for the flexibility to host localised events that we know our community really loves. Twilight at Mofflin will give people the chance to come together, connect and socialise which is such an important part of living in a happy community.

“We are also really proud to showcase Mofflin Reserve,” the Mayor continued. “After officially opening the park in January, we have had an overwhelmingly positive response to the park’s transformation.”

Mofflin Reserve, nestled in the Playford Health and Wellbeing Precinct near Lyell McEwin Hospital, is one of the most diverse parks within the City of Playford.

It features an extensive range of play equipment, areas for relaxation with lots of trees and greenery, fitness stations, walking loop, basketball court, toilets, BBQs and on and off-street parking.

“If you haven’t had the chance to come down and check out Mofflin Reserve, this is the perfect opportunity,” Mayor Docherty said. “Roll out your picnic rug, grab a bite to eat and enjoy some great twilight entertainment.”

Mofflin Reserve is located at 90 Trimmer Road, Elizabeth Vale. The free Twilight at Mofflin event commences at 5:00pm.

About Mofflin Reserve

Mofflin Reserve is located in the Playford Health and Wellbeing Precinct and opened in January 2024 following a $4.6M redevelopment.

The upgrade features a large nature play area, a walking track, all abilities fitness equipment and extensive landscaped gardens. Quiet areas for rest and recuperation are also included, to complement nearby health services, such as the Lyell McEwin Hospital.

Public toilets, lighting, BBQs, a range of play equipment, green spaces and mature trees are among the features included in the design, following feedback received as part of community consultation.

The City of Playford received $2M from the State Government’s Open Space Grant Program to support the upgrade of Mofflin Reserve.
