Later this year, the Playford Bowls Club, formed via the merger of the Elizabeth and Munno Para bowling clubs, will have an upgraded facility that include three under-cover artificial playing greens that will be the largest in the nation.The City of Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty said the Goodman Road project is nearing final detailed design.“This is a very exciting project for the City of Playford and the bowls club that will be moving into the facility upon its completion,” Mayor Docherty said. Tennis centre matching expectations “The club has provided excellent insight and input into the design, which will result in a fantastic lawn bowls facility.”The club room is expected to provide modern amenities and a spacious dining area that can double as a function centre.The construction phase of the lawn bowls centre is expected to provide up to 40 new jobs.While the Playford City Lawn Bowls Centre site is under construction, the club is operating out of the former Munno Para Bowls Club at Curtis Road.The City of Playford’s sports precinct also includes the Playford Tennis Centre, which is nearing completion.
