Dogs in the City of Playford will soon lap up an upgraded Stebonheath Dog Park.

Dogs in the City of Playford will soon lap up an upgraded Stebonheath Dog Park.

But first the popular park will close so the improvements can occur.The park will be closed from Monday, 6 November, to Sunday, 3 December – meaning a paws in play at the site.City of Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty said the park is very popular and the upgrade will make it even better the dog owners who bring their furry friends for off-leash recreation.“The improvements will see a reduction in water ponding, meaning no more muddy paws,” Mayor Docherty said. The works include:

The installation of soakage pits to reduce water ponding on the grassed area;

The addition of compost and coarse-washed sand to improve drainage;

300 square metres of new turf to be planted in worn-out areas;

The repair of two damaged areas of existing hard-stand areas.
