It’s the final countdown to the opening of the $5.

It’s the final countdown to the opening of the $5.5 million Prince George Plaza in the heart of the City of Playford’s CBD.

The community is encouraged to arrive at the plaza from 6.30pm, with the official plaza opening beginning at 7pm.Children's entertainer Mr Oopy’s bubble and balloon making will kick off proceedings.9News anchor, Brenton Ragless, will host the event, which will include the unveiling of the restored Windsor Green fountain by City of Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty.The audience will then be treated to a performance by the internationally acclaimed Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, followed by an urban light projection created by the team from the Northern Adelaide Senior College - the Playford Civic Centre will be transformed into an amazing visual art piece. Below are all the details you need to know.

How to get there:

Where possible we encourage you to take public transport as parking will be limited. For information on what buses/trains to take visit the Adelaide Metro website HERE; and

Parking is available at the Elizabeth City Centre and surrounds.

What to bring:

The whole family;

A picnic blanket and basket; and

This is a FREE event, no tickets required.

What's available:

Restroom facilities (including change rooms);

Affordable drinks and snacks;

Limited seating - you will have to arrive early to secure your spot; and

Free WiFi.

What not to bring:

We would encourage attendees to bring a picnic, not chairs, so everyone can see the spectacular performers. However, if you need to bring a chair with you, we ask that you are mindful of those on blankets so everyone can enjoy this wonderful evening;

No pets allowed; and

This is a smoke- and alcohol-free event.
