I also run a sports program for SCOSA and providing them with the opportunity to participate in sporting activities is not only rewarding for myself but to see the satisfaction and joy on their faces, doesn’t get much better than that! Do you play any sports yourself?NS: Yes, I grew up playing football and soccer in the winter time, while playing cricket in the summer.

I currently just play football for the mighty Gaza Eagles.

However, I love having a hit of tennis on a weekly basis with mates.

Funniest moment you have seen?NS: The funniest thing that happened to me on the courts was when I was in the sports shed and opened the roller door for a ball to instantly smash me in the face.

Fair to say, I was left with a thumping headache but it was hilarious at the time, especially for the kids. Do you have advice for teams considering joining?

NS: When registering at team at JMC it is important to remember that our competitions are social.

Sure, everyone wants to win, but it is more important to have fun and be active over anything else. Ensure you create a team with people you love to spend time with and all share a common interest in the sport.
