Photo: City of Playford Last week, City of Playford council inspectors issued the first three fines, of $1000 per offence, for illegal dumping under new state legislation implemented this year through the Local Nuisance and Litter Control Act 2016.The City of Playford’s Mayor Glenn Docherty said two of the $1000 fines were issued for dumping garden or household waste in a reserve or on the side of the road.The third fine was issued for dumping building waste on a vacant property.“Illegal dumping costs Council almost $1 million dollars every year to clean up.
