Come along and watch Sing 2 under the stars during the October school holidays!

The City of Playford is inviting the community to come together for a free Twilight Movie Night at Virginia during the October school holidays.

On Friday, 10 October from 6.00pm to 10.00pm at Central Lake Reserve on Juniper Boulevard, the family-friendly event will feature the animated hit Sing 2 on the big screen at sundown, along with plenty of activities and entertainment to enjoy beforehand.

Children can take part in pre-movie entertainment and free activities supplied by Virginia Grove, including face painting, glitter tattoos, ninja soft play equipment and movie quiz. There will also be giant lawn games.

To make the night even more fun, free hotdogs and free popcorn will be available while stocks last, alongside ice-creams and drinks for purchase.

Mayor Glenn Docherty said the event is about having some free fun as a community during the school holidays.

“Events like Twilight Movie Night are about more than just watching a film. It brings our community together and creates special memories for families to share right here in Virginia,” Mayor Docherty said.

He said everyone is welcome to enjoy the event and encourages residents from across Playford to attend.

“We’re proud to deliver a free event that everyone can enjoy. With activities for kids, entertainment before the film and food on offer, there’s something for every member of the family to experience.”

Mayor Docherty also encouraged the community to come along and make the most of the evening.

“There’s nothing quite like watching a movie under the night sky. I encourage residents to grab their picnic rug, invite their friends and neighbours, and enjoy this safe and family-friendly evening in our City,” Mayor Docherty said.

This alcohol, smoking and pet-free event is about providing a safe, welcoming and fun evening for the whole community. Residents are encouraged to gather their family and friends, and share in a memorable evening under the Playford sky.
