Roll up for this inclusive career and training expo involving a theatre company, businesses and service providers.

An innovative expo involving a theatre company, businesses and service providers is aiming to boost job opportunities for people with disability.

The Positive Futures Expo will see more than 30 stallholders and presenters come together at the John McVeity Centre, 10am to 2pm on Wednesday, 1 June.

The free event will include two workshops by No Strings Attached Theatre of Disability which will demonstrate how to build confidence through performance.

There will be presentations on how to start a micro enterprise.

Visitors will find out how assistive technology, such as voice activated doors and window blinds, a special “pen” that reads books aloud when placed over text and electric wheelchairs can support independent living.

Job seekers with disability will be shown what funding is available to help them win and keep a position.

The free event is organised by City of Playford and open to people of all ages.

Mayor Glenn Docherty said the expo would introduce attendees to potential employers and support agencies.

“The Positive Futures Expo seeks to create new opportunities for people with disability,” Mayor Docherty said.

“The expo will focus on what people with disability can achieve with the right support.

“The event has been designed to be interactive, engaging and inspiring. We want everyone to be able to play a part in their community.”

The Positive Futures Expo traditionally attracts more than 400 people.
