Draft Stormwater Management Plans for Playford
Published 11 April 2022
Community engagement has commenced on three Draft Stormwater Management Plans for Playford.

The City of Playford has drafted the first integrated Stormwater Management Plans (SMPs) for the area to holistically manage stormwater on a regional scale.

SMPs provide strategies for managing the quantity and quality of stormwater and relate to three of the five catchment areas in Playford: the Adams Creek and Helps Road Drain Catchment, Greater Edinburgh Parks and St Kilda Catchment and Smith Creek Catchment.

SMPs are a framework for the long-term management of stormwater and identify future projects that may be undertaken to mitigate flooding risks on homes, businesses, farmland and the natural environment.

The draft plans are available to view as part of Council’s engagement with the community on stormwater management. While we have been working with the community and other stakeholders to draft the plans, it’s now time for Council to better understand community priorities when it comes to stormwater.

How to share your views on the draft SMPs

Community engagement on the plans runs until Monday 09 May, 2022 and there are several ways you can learn more about stormwater and its management, and share your views.

Don’t know much about stormwater? This Guide to Understanding Stormwater is a great place to start and includes a summary of each plan.

You can view the three draft SMPs here.
