 Preparations are well under way for the 2016 Playford Christmas Pageant, with over 7000 people expected to attend the event this Saturday.

Preparations are well under way for the 2016 Playford Christmas Pageant, with over 7000 people expected to attend the event this Saturday.Pageant organiser Shirley Halls, a City of Playford councillor, said the pageant is organised solely by community volunteers from within the local area.“City of Playford volunteers also participate, with about 30 to 50 assorted characters, including clowns, stilt walkers and Big Bird,” Mrs Halls said. “This year, the Santa sleigh and Christmas tree will be pulled by vintage Jeeps from the National Military Vehicle Museum, which had its milestone 75th birthday last month.”The pageant will begin at the corner of Anderson Walk and Queens Street at 9.30am on Saturday before finishing at Munno Para Shopping City, where children can have their photographs taken with Santa.Face-painting, live music and other family-friendly activities will continue in the shopping centre throughout the day.
