The State Government handed down its final budget prior to next March's election, with school funding the highlight for Playford residents.

Education in Adelaide's north has been a big winner in today's State Budget, with a new super school announced for the area.It is expected the school will be built at Munno Para.Davoren Park's Swallowcliffe School P-7 ($3.2 million) and Elizabeth's Playford International College ($3.5 million) will also benefit from expanded services.The State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to the Gawler rail electrification with $242 million set aside for the project, dependent upon Federal Government funding.The impending closure of Holden at Elizabeth has resulted in the announcement of a $220 million 'Future Jobs Fund'.

Today's budget announcements follow news earlier this week that the Elizabeth Vale-based Lyell McEwin Hospital would receive a $52.5 million upgrade of its emergency department. More to come.
