City of Playford’s Northern Adelaide Jobs and Careers Expo is offering students and job seekers an exciting opportunity to connect with some of the nation’s most recognisable brands.

The free expo, hosted in partnership with Workforce Australia’s Local Jobs Program – Adelaide North, will take place at the Playford Civic Centre, Elizabeth on Tuesday 10 September, from 10 am to 2 pm.

Featuring eighty exhibits, including prominent names such as Haigh’s Chocolates, Hungry Jacks, McDonalds Elizabeth, Stepping Stone Childcare, BAE Systems, OTR and the corporate team behind Adelaide United.

Attendees will have the chance to explore a wide range of industries, discover pathways to their dream jobs, and gain insights from industry experts.

Mayor Glenn Docherty said the Northern Adelaide Jobs and Careers Expo was a fantastic opportunity for anyone uncertain about their career or job aspirations.

“The expo is a fantastic initiative that brings together employers and job seekers in our community,” said the Mayor.

“Playford’s business hub – the Stretton Centre, partners with businesses across the city and beyond, bringing together representatives at this expo to showcase diverse career options and inspire our future workforce.”

In addition to the wealth of knowledge and networking opportunities, the expo also features a job board displaying more than one hundred current job vacancies, providing a direct pathway for attendees to secure employment.

Best of all attendees can engage in hands-on activities, such as using a welding VR simulator with ATEC, competing to wrap the most burgers with Hungry Jacks, practicing chocolate displays and boxing with South Australia's own Haigh’s Chocolates, or picking up some cool merchandise from McDonalds Elizabeth.

The fun doesn’t stop there! Try the Pathway to Your Future Trail Competition – an interactive experience designed to help you prepare for interviews and land the right job for your career path. Visit all six stations and you'll have the chance to enter the draw to win one of five exciting prizes.

Meanwhile, take advantage of the workshops running throughout the day, which explore key topics for new job seekers and those considering a career change.

What Employers Want (starting at 11 am), facilitated by Sharon Clarke, is a must-attend panel discussion with major employers in Adelaide.
