The National Disability Insurance Scheme will soon be introduced, with the Playford community at the forefront of the change.Big changes are happening with the implementation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) from 1 July, and the City of Playford wants to ensure that anyone eligible for this scheme will benefit.
The City of Playford Mayor Glenn Docherty said people will transition to the NDIS at different times, depending on their age and where they live.
“One of the first locations for the NDIS to ‘roll out’ is City of Playford, Salisbury and some parts of Port Adelaide Enfield,” Mr Docherty said.
“It will change the way participants use current City of Playford services like our Friends and Reach Out Mums programs from 1 July 2017.”
If you currently receive disability support from Disability SA and are eligible for the NDIS, you will be contacted by the NDIS before your transition.
Otherwise, you will have to apply directly to the NDIS for funding.
