Fundraising isn’t always about the size of the contribution, but the size of the heart.

Fundraising isn’t always about the size of the contribution, but the size of the heart. And Elizabeth Downs’ Andra Valentine has given the World’s Greatest Shave a sizeable amount of both.On the weekend, the 11-year-old Trinity College student had her hair cut for charity, having raised over $2000 for blood cancer research in a massive effort. She didn’t cut all of her hair, but if you want an idea of her new style, think ‘90s-style undercut!Mum Tania Valentine was extremely proud of her daughter.“Her idea to do this has come from nowhere, we have not had someone close suffer cancer or require a wig but she decided that she can grow her hair do why not donate it,” Tania said.“The strength she has shown in doing this has been beyond her years.” The cut was donated by Step By Step hairdressing at Munno Para, with the portion she cut off donated to be turned into wigs.Andra was humble about her contribution to such a worthwhile cause. “It’s just something I wanted to do for other people,” she said.“I love giving to others and I feel rewarded by the joy and smiles when I do something for other people.” You can still donate to Andra’s cause by clicking here.
