- 10 for $10 is back again
Playford’s popular 10 for $10 native plants scheme returns for the ninth year running on 5 August, giving locals the chance to green their backyards with native gems.
As part of the program, residents can purchase and redeem $10 vouchers for a box of 10 native seedlings from Provenance Indigenous Plants in Salisbury Park.
Native gardens provide many benefits to not only homeowners but also local wildlife, the environment and biodiversity.
Australian native plants are also known for being among the easiest plants to grow. They are evergreen and resilient, and after a year of occasional watering, can usually survive on rainfall with little maintenance.
Mayor Glenn Docherty said 10 for $10 is a popular program that supports our environment and contributes to our goal of creating a greener city.
“We encourage residents to plant these seedlings in their yards and properties, giving everyone the chance to improve biodiversity across the city,” said the Mayor.
The 10 for $10 program typically receives an overwhelming response from the community, with vouchers selling out within days of release.
“Be sure to get your vouchers as soon as you can to avoid disappointment,” said the Mayor.
Two-hundred vouchers will be released for sale at 10am on Wednesday 5 August until they are sold out. Vouchers can be purchased online through Eventbrite or in-person with cash or card from the customer service desk at the Playford Civic Centre (10 Playford Boulevard, Elizabeth).
Our 10 for $10 Eventbrite page is available to view now. Revisit this page when the sale opens on Wednesday 5 August at 10 am.
Vouchers are strictly limited to one per household and are available only to Playford residents and volunteers. Once purchased, vouchers can be redeemed at Provenance Indigenous Plants in Salisbury Park from 5 August until 25 November 2026. Provenance is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 10am and 3pm.
