STEAM Hub & Educational Resources

STEAM Hub

Shoot for the moon with an array of Library STEAM Hub programs and hardware available at your fingertips. Programs and courses are available to Playford community, organisations and schools, for ages 10+ years to adults.

Courses range from beginners to advance in coding, robotics, CAD (Computer-aided design) and/or 3D Printing throughout the year.

Once you have stepped into the realm of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) you can join our STEAM Club to work as a team or develop your own projects.

STEAM Hub is facilitated by our Library STEAM Officer who is passionate about helping you connect with the STEAM community and build your abilities to enter into local, state and national competitions- such as GovHack.

If you are interested in accessing our STEAM Hub programs head to the Library programs page for more information.

If you are a teacher or community organisation, contact us to organise a guided tour of the STEAM Hub, or to learn more about our tailored programs that can be held from the library or your facility. Contact the library on 8256 0333.

Library Tours

Take your class on an excursion to tour the Civic Centre or Stretton Centre Libraries, whether you're from a local school, centre or community group! We can make your visit tailor-made to suit the needs of your students, such as story time for a younger group.

Taking a tour of the libraries will not only encourage students to join, but stroke their curiosity and find items they want to browse independently. We recommend teachers to prepare membership forms prior to the tour.

If you would like to prepare library cards to be handed out at the tour session let the staff member know when you book into the library tour. The library is also more than happy to provide educators with any of the library's promotional materials.

To arrange a tour, please contact the Children's Services Officer on 8256 0333.

Learn about the Library

Our library staff love going on excursions themselves! They can easily organise a visit to your school or group and give a special talk on what the library has to offer. We can also provide a pop-up library at your next community or school event!

Our presentations can be tailored to suit your needs - to arrange a visit from our staff please contact the Children's Services Officer on 8256 0333.
