Rescinded Committees

Australia Day Event Committee

The Australia Day Committee made decisions relating to producing Playford's Australia Day events including liaising with community members, Council staff and councillors, assisting with citizenship ceremonies and Australia Day awards, and to provide oversight for the event budget. The Australia Day committee was active between 2007 and 2011.

CEO Selection Panel

City of Playford's Chief Executive Officer Selection Panel was a committee tasked with selecting a new CEO for Council following the resignation of previous CEO Tim Jackson.

The Panel was disbanded in 2015 after an exhaustive selection process, in which Dr Mal Hemmerling was appointed as Council's Chief Executive Officer in September of that year.

City Assets and Services Committee

The City Assets and Services Committee provided proactive direction for Council and councillors in relation to the Council Plan, while providing strategic advice to the Strategic Planning Committee and to Council on items put forward to Councillors for consideration. It was active between 2006 and 2014.

City Strategy and Enterprises Committee

Once known as the Economic and Corporate Committee, the City Strategy and Enterprises Committee provided proactive direction for Council and councillors in relation to the Council Plan, and provided advice to the Strategic Planning Committee and to Council on items put forward to councillors for consideration.

The Economic and Corporate Committee was active from 2007 until 2012, at which time it was replaced by the City Strategy and Enterprise Committee until that group was disbanded in 2014.

District Bushfire Prevention Committee

This committee's role was to assess the extent of fire hazards within the Council area and to advise the appropriate authorities of the existence of those hazards and make recommendations regarding their removal. The committee was active between 2010 and 2014.

Governance Review Committee

The Governance Review Committee would recommend to Council the best-practice governance processes to encourage inclusive and engaged decision making within the Playford community. The Committee was active between 2008 and 2014.
