Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Programs

Established in 2004, Marni Waeindi ('towards a future') is a community-based Indigenous Transition Pathways Centre initiative auspiced by the City of Playford to provide Aboriginal young people with opportunities to engage in learning pathways leading to successful employment outcomes and positive social and economic participation. Marni Waeindi has expanded into an Indigenous lifelong learning focus addressing early childhood, health and well-being.

The Centre comprises of Project Manager, Project Officers and Administration Staff as well as the Governing Council who are local Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander residence and who also represent various agencies such as Education, Health, Housing, Early Childhood etc.

This is a community celebration held annually to acknowledge the achievements of young Indigenous students completing the education milestones of year 7 and year 12/13.

Community Support Services

The Community Support Service delivery strategy connects Indigenous people and their families by referring and linking them to a range of mainstream and Indigenous support services including early childhood, education, training, employment, financial management, housing, health and legal services.

Goal 25

Goal 25 provides both accredited and non-accredited training to Indigenous participants in the Northern suburbs.Goal 25 aims to also provide pathways into sustainable employment and ongoing mentor support to strengthen success in their chosen field.
