Welcome to Development Assessment (Planning and Building). In this area you will find useful information on the services provided by our Planning and Building Team. We pride ourselves on providing exceptional levels of service to our customers and this link is set up to assist applicants with lodgement of development applications. Please refer to the links to the left of the page for useful information relating to development assessment.
Development Applications are assessed under the Playford Council Development Plan and the Building Code of Australia. Our staff are trained professionals with qualifications in urban and regional planning and building surveying. Their core function is to efficiently process the full range of development applications submitted for assessment.
While our staff will assist in achieving good urban design outcomes and proposals, you are encouraged to obtain development advice from an independent planning or building professional on design matters.
We encourage you to perform your own research on Council’s requirements for new development by reviewing the suite of Development Information Guides available on this site. This information has been specifically developed to assist enquiries and the lodgement of your development proposals with Council.
Please be aware that when lodging applications, it will take at least 2-3 weeks until a planning officer starts the assessment.
