For Educators

Library Tours

Classes from local schools/centres or community groups can have tours of the Children's area and the entire library.

These sessions are available on a prescheduled basis. Each visit can be tailor-made to suit the needs of the particular group of students.

We encourage teachers to allow time to browse independently and have items issued after the tour if the students are borrowers.

The library is also more than happy to provide educators any of the library's promotional materials.

To arrange a tour please contact the Children's Services Officer on 8256 0334.

Learn About the Library: Presentations at your School/Centre

Playford Library staff love getting out and about and are more than happy to visit your school/group and give a special talk on what the library has to offer.

We can tailor our presentations to suit your needs on a prescheduled basis.

To arrange a visit from our staff please contact the Children's Services Coordinator on 8256 0334.

Uleybury School Museum   l   Cornishmans Hill Road    l    ONE TREE HILL   l   SA     l   5114

Open Sundays  1 - 4pm

Step back in time and gain an insight into education from the past. The Uleybury School was built in 1856 and restoration of the old school building was undertaken in 1978 and the building was reopened as a museum.

The original school room is fully furnished and includes information, photographs and memorabilia of past students.

The museum gives an insight into education of the past and old time school lessons are conducted. There is also a shed that offers a gallery of historical information about the City of Playford area inclusive of a model of the Lady Alice Mine and a puppet theatre of Jumbo the elephant believed to have lived in the Smithfield district of the City of Playford.

Come to the Uleybury School Museum and experience 'old time' lessions taught by the Museum caretaker. There are no computers in this class room! Children will use inkwells and slates...and bad behaviour beware!
