For Educators

Library Tours

Classes from local schools/centres or community groups can have tours of the Children's area and the entire library.

These sessions are available on a prescheduled basis. Each visit can be tailor-made to suit the needs of the particular group of students.

We encourage teachers to allow time to browse independently and have items issued after the tour if the students are borrowers.

The library is also more than happy to provide educators any of the library's promotional materials.

To arrange a tour please contact the Children's Services Officer on 8256 0334.

The original school room is fully furnished and includes information, photographs and memorabilia of past students.

There is also a shed that offers a gallery of historical information about the City of Playford area inclusive of a model of the Lady Alice Mine and a puppet theatre of Jumbo the elephant believed to have lived in the Smithfield district of the City of Playford.
